The ASO audit

How AppDoctor scores your App Store product page out of 100, what each area checks, and how to fix what it finds.

Updated

Audit, the first item under Optimize, checks the selected app's whole App Store product page and gives it a score out of 100. It runs again each time you open it, so new keywords or a changed listing count straight away.

What it reads

  • The live product page, from the public App Store lookup: screenshots, description, What's New, ratings, the age rating, the languages the app supports and when it was last updated.
  • Your listing as Localization last pulled it from App Store Connect, including the subtitle and the hidden keyword field. Open Localization once, with an App Store Connect key in Settings, to include them.
  • The keywords you track, with their ranks, popularity and difficulty in each country.
  • Your screenshot, video and header designs in AppDoctor.

The five areas

Area Share of the score What it checks
Listing text 32% How much of the name and subtitle you use, words the subtitle repeats from the name, the keyword field's length, spaces and repeated or filler words, promotional text, the description's length, and a What's New that says nothing.
Keywords 26% How many you track and have checked, how fresh the ranks are, tracked keywords your listing can't match, whether any rank in the top 10, popular searches you don't appear in, and very hard targets.
Screenshots and video 20% How many screenshots the App Store shows, headlines on the first three, an app preview, and the iOS 27 product page header and search art.
Ratings and updates 12% How many ratings you have and their average, how long since the last update, and a 17+ age rating.
Countries and languages 10% Countries you track without a listing in their language, languages the app speaks but the listing doesn't, and competitors.

Each problem costs its area points: a critical one 35, a warning 15 and a tip 5. Anything the audit couldn't check can't score well: an area it could only partly see is capped, so a missing subtitle and keyword field can't hide behind a good name.

Fixing what it finds

Every finding has a button to the screen that fixes it: Localization for listing text, Keywords for tracking, Screenshots for visuals, Settings for Apple Ads. Fix with AI opens the chat beside Localization and asks your AI to run the audit and suggest listing changes, which wait there for you to review and save.

AI apps connected to AppDoctor can run the same audit with the aso_audit tool.
